On Earth Day Feather&Form reflected on just how much we, as a society, do to try and save the planet. We really have come along way with how we recycle, how we save energy and even the way we get from A to B. But outside of the home and the family, what else can be done? Many of us are still looking for ways to reduce the strain on the world in which we live, however, as we all know, it isn't always easy. But have you ever thought about how 'green' a wedding day can be? Well we at Feather and Form have, and can now tell you how to turn your white wedding into a green wedding!
Sure, you're reading this and wondering how an 'eco' wedding can still retain that classy, one off feel. Feather and Form have done extensive research and know just how to create a unique wedding that oozes class and soul but without a huge carbon footprint. What's more, we are proud to reveal that Space Coast Bride and Groom Magazine will be showing you just how in their Summer edition.
As many couples have discovered, we love a challenge and we know how to make your day into the most beautiful story you'll ever know, but we also love looking for ways to help save our planet. We'd love to work with 'green' couples and want to show the world that a wedding day can now be sustainable with our help. Here's a few tips that we've come up with to reduce your wedding's carbon footprint but retain that captivating and original Feather and Form style we're so famous for.
- Transport is a major problem in terms of emissions that are harmful to the planet. Why not have that Cinderella feel to your day and hire a horse-drawn carriage? Arrive to your fairytale wedding like a princess from a fairytale.
- Have you ever thought about wearing a recycled wedding dress? Every little girl wanted to dress up in her Mum and her Grandmothers wedding dress. Well why not now? You can get a timeless, vintage look that you know will look nothing like anyone else.
- The tiered wedding cake dates back to Victorian England where baker made a beautiful and individual cake for his daughter's wedding and it caught on. When you look to who will be making your cake, ask them to use Fairtrade and organic ingredients. Ethical food not only tastes good, it's good for the soul...
- One last point... why not have a real chilled out atmosphere with a talented local band that play unplugged acoustic band or Jazz? This will add a classy touch to your day and mean that you save on any electricity and a local band will not have to travel as far, saving petrol and reducing emissions.
There are many other points to consider but hopefully our list has given you some useful ideas. At Feather and Form, we believe that your wedding photos should tell a story that has never been told, one that is yours and yours alone. We can help you achieve the the most exclusive day that can save the Earth, but not cost it. Find out just how and see our model green wedding in the Summer edition of Space Coast Bride and Groom or if you'd like to get in touch you'll find us at www.FeatherandForm.com. We love working with couples that have one eye on their future and with our help, you can start your married life by helping make everyone's future that little brighter.
